AT&T is gearing up to carry the white version of the iPhone 4 after several delays, just a few months before the anticipated announcement of the next-generation iPhone 5.
The Dallas, Texas-based carrier has listed two entries for the white iPhone 4 in its online management system -- a 16- and a 32-gigabyte model. The exact launch date it unknown, however insiders say it should be around late February or early March.
After unveiling the iPhone last June, Apple issued an apologetic statement to customers, announcing the first delay of the white model to July, then October, before pushing it back again until the spring. People familiar with the matter said problems arose with its translucent back, which allowed light to filter through to the camera, altering its ability to take balanced photos.
Regardless, the launch of the white iPhone comes just a few months before Apple's next-generation iPhone unveiling in June, prompting many analysts and consumers to whether it's "too little too late" with the iPhone 5 on the horizon.
